1) How difficult is it to get started?

Honestly, it’s not difficult at all. In fact, it’s really straightforward and easy. Even if you’re terrible with computers and the Internet you won’t have any problems.

All you have to do to start playing online games for real money is create an account at a games website (like Paddy Power Games for example) and make a deposit.

If you’re quick, you could be all set to start playing games and winning money within 5 minutes.

2) How do you get money on to these games websites?

Depositing money is just as easy as signing up. There are a number of different ways to deposit money on to a games website, with the most popular method being via your everyday debit or credit card.

If you’re making a deposit by card, it’s just as easy as it is to pay for your Friday big shop at Tesco or paying for that Saturday night takeaway over the phone. You just enter a few details and it’s all done. The money will appear in your account for you to play with instantly.

Have at a look at the games websites deposit options guide if you’d like a little more information on making your first deposit.

3) Is it safe to deposit and play games for real money?

Yes.

I’ve been depositing, playing with and withdrawing real money from games websites for years and I have never had any problems.

Many people are always concerned about money when it comes to the Internet, which is fair enough. However, the games websites recommended on this site are as safe as houses (which is one of the reasons why I recommend them in the first place).

After you get over the initial concerns, you’ll soon realise that your money is in safe, reliable and capable hands.

4) How long does it take to deposit and withdraw money?

Deposits are instant if you’re using one of the more popular deposit options (like credit or debit card for example).

Withdrawals times vary from one games website to the next, but you will rarely wait longer than 3 days for your winnings to appear in your bank account. The average withdrawal time is 1 to 3 days.

Deposit and withdrawal times are usually outlined in the "banking" section of the games website.

5) Can you actually win money from online games?

Of course. It wouldn’t be much fun if you couldn’t actually win money. If that was the case then I wouldn’t be playing them.

You obviously can’t win money from every game you play, but if you hit the right mix of luck and skill there’s no reason why you can’t turn a quick tenner in to a handy £50 for the weekend.

6) How much does it cost to play the games?

In most games, you can wager as much or as little as you like. There are rarely any games that cost a set amount of money like £1, £5, £10 or whatever a go. You get to choose how much you play for in each game.

For example, in the The Money Drop game (as shown below), you can wager 50p at a time or up to £100 at a time (if you’re feeling particularly adventurous).

You Can Play The Money Drop For As Little As 50p

Therefore, even if you make a small deposit, you can still end up playing loads of different games many times over.

7) How much can you win from online games?

This depends on how much you wager, which game you play and how you play it. I apologise for the vague answer on this one, but I think the best way to get an idea of how much you can win is to try out the games for yourself.

However, to give you a quick example, if you’re playing with £10 on the “The Money Drop” game, the maximum you can win is £9,600 - which equals a few good nights out I’m sure.

8) Which games website is the best?

Paddy Power Games is my favourite. It has the best games, is super easy to use and has great deposit and withdrawal times.

9) Are the games rigged?

No, they are not “rigged” in the malicious sense of the word.

Most betting games are a little like pub fruit machines or pub quiz machines in that they have set payout percentages. Other games are more like casino games like Blackjack or Roulette in the way that the house has the mathematical edge due to the laws of probability.

The house will usually have a slight edge, but the games have not been illegally rigged to take your hard earned money away from you unfairly.
